WX Network

Blockchain, Exchange and Wallets

FAQ

What is Waves Platform?
Waves is an open source blockchain platform. Waves uses Leasing Proof-of-Stake as its consensus method to verify and process transactions on the Waves blockchain. In the section dedicated to the Waves Platform you will find lots of useful information, support and tools including:
  • Waves docs

WX Network: the new version of the Waves Exchange
WX Network is the new version of the Waves Exchange and Wallet.
WX Network: Exchange and Wallet
Waves Exchange rebranded WX Network and includes both:
  • WX Network Exchange, a hybrid cryptoasset exchange that allows users to transfer, trade, issue, and stake cryptocurrencies. It combines the strength of centralized and decentralized exchanges, in which you can trade your token pairing it with any other Waves token.
  • non-custodial cryptocurrency wallets to send, receive and store your currencies.
    • Desktop wallets (Windows, Mac OS, Linux)
    • Mobile wallets (iOS & Android)
    • Online wallet
Unlike centralized exchanges, you own your private keys. This means that you retain complete control over your funds. Waves also supports hardware wallets within the exchange.
How to create an account on WX Network?
Luckily it only takes a minute to create an account on WX Network exchange.
  1. Go to WX Network
  2. Create a new password, “Continue” and “Create a new account”
  3. Choose your avatar and “Continue”
  4. Add an account name and “Continue”
  5. Done. Don’t forget to save the secret phrase (SEED). It is crucial for accessing your account!
Watch this video tutorial: How to create a new account. Also read and watch all our tutorials.
What types of account are supported in WX Network app?
You can create WX Network account that is either tied to an email address or seed phrase. You can also log in with your Ledger device, Keeper Wallet or MetaMask browser extension.
Why do you recommend me to use an email account?

Using an email account is the safest authentication method because it doesn’t require you to transfer your seed. Sending a seed always carries the risk of being intercepted. If third parties take over your seed, you will lose your funds.

It is important to note that seed accounts are no less secure than email accounts, but only if the user is confident in the safety of their actions, they understand what a seed is and how the blockchain works. Seed accounts are intended for more experienced users.

Also, when using an email account, you can always quickly restore access if you forgot your password. Unlike a seed account, you can use an email account in different browsers and on different devices without having to import it every time.

What is the difference between registering with email and registering with seed, private key or Keystore File?

By registering using email, you can access your account from any browser on any device, simply by specifying this email as a login and specifying your password.

In the case of registration using Seed, private key, or Keystore File, registration occurs only for this device and only for this browser. As a result, you will be forced to create a password and import your account every time you clear your cache or use a new device or browser.

We do not recommend using this method, as every time you provide your seed, private key, or Keystore File, they can be intercepted.

I didn't receive a letter with a verification code. What should I do?
In this case, you need to make sure that you entered your email correctly when registering. Also, try checking your spam folder. Perhaps the letter got there.
I am trying to log in and receive the message "You do not have any imported seed accounts. Please go to the Sign Up page and create your account." What does it mean?
You can see such a message only if you try to log in to your seed account. It can appear in the following cases:
  • You previously created a seed account, but after that, you may have cleared the cache of your browser or started using a new browser or device. In this case, you need to import the previously created account.
  • You were registered by email and you do not have a seed account. In this case, you need to go to the email login page.
I have previously created a seed account and want to use it in another browser. How can I import it?
If you want to use your seed account in another browser, first of all, you need to create a password for access. After that, you can import your existing account by specifying your seed.
Can I restore access to my seed account via email?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. Seed accounts are not tied to email addresses. No one except you has access to your seed and therefore cannot restore it. However, if you forgot your seed account password but remember your seed, then you can restore access to your seed account. To do this, use the link “Forgot your password?”, which is located under the login form.
How to restore access to my email account?
To restore access to your email account, you need to enter the email address that was used during registration. Next, you must come up with a new password and confirm its change using a verification code that will be sent to your email address.
How to log in using MetaMask wallet?
To log into your account via MetaMask wallet, you need to select the ‘Ledger or Browser Extensions’ authorization method on the ‘Access my Account’ page. Select MetaMask in the pop-up. If you do not have installed MetaMask browser extension – follow the instructions on your screen. In the other case, a notification requesting to connect your account to Waves.Exchange will appear. Confirm the connection and permission requests by clicking ‘Next’ in the MetaMask browser extension. Once the connection between Waves.Exchange and your MetaMask wallet is successfully established, you will be redirected to the Wallet.
How to deposit funds to WX Network?
To deposit your cryptocurrencies, WAVES or Waves-based tokens from an external wallet/exchange to your Waves account on WX Network follow the steps listed here: Exchanges > WX Network > How to deposit funds in WX Network.
How to search and buy our pairs on WX Network?
To find the best trading pairs set by us on WX Network, check the page of each of our tokens. However you can also find trade orders in other pairs, like i.e. Waves and BTC, set by other traders. Therefore, if you want to look for additional pairs, log in to the Waves Exchange and use the search bar to find all the pairs with our tokens. For example, type the token name followed by the slash symbol (/) – i.e. Angry Panda/ – and you will see all the pairs with Angry Panda token. To learn more about how to find and add out tokens to favorites, read also this step by step tutorial: Angry Panda tokens on Waves DEX.
What is a Waves address (or Waves public address)?
A Waves address (or Waves public address) is your wallet address and it is necessary to receive cryptocurrencies from Waves users.
  • It is completely safe to share your Waves address with the person who wants to send you the assets.
  • Also, in order to claim any free tokens, you can safely share your Waves address to receive tokens in your wallet.
What is SEED passphrase?

SEED (or SEED passphrase or backup phrase) is a set of words that will always generate or recover the same Waves address.

By default Waves SEED always contains 15 English words with spaces between each word. Except for the beginning of the first word and the end of the last word.

IMPORTANT

  • If you lose the SEED, then it will be impossible to restore access to your account.
  • If a third party gets hold of the Ledger SEED phrase, you may lose your funds.

Wrong SEED, empty wallet
If you recover an empty wallet, most probably it’s because you imported an incorrect SEED passphrase. It may be one of the several typical cases where users can make a mistake:
  • Any of those words are different from your original wallet. So, please make sure that you are importing the correct SEED phrase, because even a single character will generate a completely different Waves address.
  • SEED should contain 1 empty space between each word. So, check that there are no extra spaces.
What is a private key?
The private key is a base58-encoded key that can be of different length – the maximum length is 44 characters.
  • The private key is used to sign transactions or orders and it provides complete control over the account, including the ability to dispose of funds.
Protect yourself: what you can share
It’s completely safe to give your Waves public address to receive tokens or to claim free tokens.
Protect yourself: what you should never share
You should never give or share your SEED (secret backup phrase), private address or your password to anyone. Never! Neither to administrators!
  • If anyone has your SEED or private key or password, they can steal your Waves and tokens! Be careful and avoid inputting your wallet information on any resources.
  • If someone asks you payments to give you something in return it’s a scam.
Security information
Please read this security information carefully:
  • The secret phrase or the private key derived from it provides complete control over the account, including the ability to dispose of funds. Do not give your secret phrase and private key to anyone, and do not publish or send them.
  • The secret phrase cannot be changed: another secret phrase (even one that differs by a single character) will generate a different key pair, and therefore a different account.
  • If you lose your secret phrase and private key, you will no longer be able to access your account permanently. We strongly encourage you to write down the secret phrase on a piece of paper and store it in a safe place.
  • If the secret phrase is compromised (you have accidentally sent it to someone or suspect that it was taken by fraudsters), immediately create a new account and transfer all assets to it.
